Provoked, she attempted to chase them off as Nebbercracker tries to stop her, only to be knocked out as she stumbled and fell into the unfinished basement with her body accidentally being coated in cement, suffocating her. Nebbercracker then finished the house's construction in Constance's memory, but her vengeful spirit soon merged with it. Over the years, Nebbercracker feigned aggression to protect innocent people from her. Observing a group of children in Halloween costumes nearby, he realizes he doesn't have much time, and approaches his house.

Ascertaining that the presumably-deceased Nebbercracker is the cause, the trio construct a dummy filled with cough syrup Chowder stole from a pharmacy owned by his father. They offer the dummy to the house to eat, hoping to put it to sleep so they can find its "heart" (its furnace).
Storyline
Later on, when DJ and Chowder sought to investigate the house, Chowder, who doesn't believe strange things that occurred inside the house, starts to fool around on the house's lawn. They discovered Bones' empty bottle but dismissed it and toss it aside, unaware that the possessed grass on the lawn pulled it underground. Everything seems normal until Chowder pressed the bell, and the house awakened. The door (the mouth) suddenly opens, revealing its interior's fractures, and shifts into a mouth-like cavern. Even the house's exterior turned into a demonic form while retaining its former appearance. The horrified Chowder is then chased by the house's rug (the tongue) that acts like a chameleon's tongue, and barely escapes.
DJ has considered abandoning the case after being fed up with the argument, only to be unexpectedly hit by an ambulance by accident which turned out to be hijacked by the still-living Nebbercracker. DJ was happy that he didn't cause the old man to be killed, but only crippled him instead. Nebbercracker then lashed out to the trio to leave, but his wrath quickly changes into worry as he realised that it was Halloween and kids would be approaching his house.

Constance hates Jenny because she helped DJ and chowder to stop her evil plan and was the one who cause herself to throw her, DJ and chowder out of the house.
As the boys leave, Chowder states that Nebbercracker will find a way to get his life back on track. Nebbercracker assured her that he would protect her to the best of his ability. As the children started throwing eggs at her, Constance went berserk, despite Nebbercracker’s attempts to calm her down, and she fell into the basement, getting covered in cement as well, killing her. Though still furious, the house calmed down, and they had a brief conversation.
Chowder looks behind, where the house became more deformed than it previously was before returning to normal. DJ urges Nebbercracker to let Constance go on to the afterlife for the better. Nebbercracker is uneasy about this, stating that he’ll have no one if he lets her go, but DJ convinces him otherwise.

Jenny calls police officers Landers and Lister, but the house stays quiet when the officers arrive and they dismiss the report. On the day before Halloween, 12-year-old Dustin James "D.J." Walters documents his elderly neighbor, Horace Nebbercracker, stealing a little girl's tricycle and scaring her away from his house, one of many similar incidents that have occurred. That same day, D.J.'s parents leave for a convention, placing him in the care of his teenage babysitter Elizabeth, or Zee. Later, D.J.'s friend, Charles "Chowder" Peterson, loses his basketball on Nebbercracker's lawn; D.J. He appears to suffer a heart attack and is presumed dead by the duo as he is taken away in an ambulance.
Swings out on a crane's hook with the dynamite, dropping it into the house's chimney and vanquishing Constance. Finally freed, her spirit briefly reunites with Nebbercracker before ascending to the afterlife; he thanks the trio for freeing them from their suffering. In its final form, the house resembles a porcupine made of timber boards, with the shattered yet same windows and a triangular mouth with a longer flange chimney set in the center of its head. Its left tree arm is placed at the end of its tail and its right arm(still intact) is smaller and thinner. Upon reaching the crane, DJ uses it to swing over the house's chimney and throws the dynamite down to its heart.
He married her shortly afterwards, and began building a house for the two of them. Fortunately, the children interfered, and with this, he left the task of destruction to DJ. After DJ successfully destroyed the house, he spent his final moments with Constance's spirit who was now free from the house, and thanked him saying that "for forty-five years, we have been trapped for 45 years, and now we're free!". That Halloween night, instead of candy, he handed out the toys and other various items he had stolen to their previous owners including Eliza's tricycle as an apology to all the kids he pretended to hate. In her memory Horace managed to finish the house, thinking it's what Constance would have wanted, however, he soon discovered that, even though his wife had died she hadn't left, with her soul coming to possess their home.
The house would attack any kids that got near it, especially on the night of Halloween, which forced Horace to take precautions by putting warning signs on the lawn to prevent the house from attacking anyone near the house. To make sure Constance wouldn't hurt anyone, and to keep the children safe Horace began to put on a mean and hostile personality to any kids that came near the house to prevent them from entering the lawn by scaring them and making sure that both the kids and house are safe. Though still furious, Constance calmed down, and they had a brief conversation. Here, Constance expresses a degree of remorse over the carnage that she has done, and Nebbercracker said that he has done the best for her. But now, her suffering must be over as he reveal the dynamite to blow up the house that has changed her. Constance was shocked with this and started to get furious, but Nebbercracker argues, tried to blow the house up with the dynamite, and trying to tell Constance that it was the best for her.
Mr. Nebbercracker hates kids and confiscates everything that lands on his lawn, telling people to stay off it and from his house due to his knowledge that the house is sapient. Beneath that rotten surface, however, there lies a sad man with justifiable reasons as to why he would behave horribly grumpy.All spoilers are unmarked. In the hospital, when Nebbercracker nearly recovers, he realized that he has left Constance, she started her killing spree, and quickly stole one of the ambulances in the hospital to stop her from doing further damage. Mr. Nebbercracker, appears to be mean and heartless to anyone on his lawn, but only because he is afraid his house will attack the person. He is most likely in his sixties or seventies, as he's pretty slow on his feet.
The tragedy occurred in at Halloween, the last day where children laughed at Constance, and she said she was going to "rip them to bits". Mr. Nebbercracker, whom see her complain over the children's bullying, told her, "As long as I'm here, I will never let anybody hurt you." However, just as he said so, the children continued their throwing, which now in a more aggressive manner. The enraged Constance then uses the axe that Nebbercracker was holding to hurt the children, but ended up knocked away in attempt to take the axe back. This made her lose her footing, and to regain her unruly balance, she pulled accidentally the switch on the cement mixer, falling in with a lump of liquid concrete, and was killed. Following Constance becoming their house and attacking the neighborhood children who comes near her, he still continued protecting the children from his vengeful wife.

Things then suddenly became worse as the house attacks them and devours Officer Landers alive while sadistically playing with Officer Lister whom it grabbed via branches before eventually tossing him into its mouth. She was a human performing as a "circus freak" in a circus until Horace Nebbercracker saved her and married her. During the construction of their house, her sudden untimely death occurred due to falling into the basement and getting covered in wet concrete, after which she took possession of the house instead of going to heaven, which developed monster-like characteristics. He is a former army member, DJ’s neighbor from across the street, and the husband of Constance, whose vengeful spirit has possessed his house, forcing him to chase people away from his house so they won’t get hurt. He has been dedicating his time to spying on Mr. Nebbercracker through his telescope for a few years after the old man becomes known for scaring kids and stealing their toys and is called crazy for his obsession with it.
